Safe Start for Puppies: The Canines For Change Whelping House!

Canines for Change is seeking funds to construct a dedicated Whelping House. The Whelping House will be a safe and nurturing space for pregnant service and facility dog mamas and their newborn puppies.

This space will be separate from the main kennel to minimize stress and reduce the risk of illness or injury, while providing appropriate accommodations for 24/7 care during the most vulnerable stages of life and training.

Features of the Whelping House:

Safe, climate-controlled whelping suites
Private outdoor access for each mother and her litter
Small kitchen area for nutrition prep and cleaning
Office space for record keeping and monitoring
Sleeping quarters for overnight staff
Storage for medical and whelping supplies
